I am a long-term resident of Burnsville where I graduated from Burnsville High School in 1975. After graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, MN, I joined the international public accounting firm, KPMG. As a certified public accountant, I specialized in banking, insurance, and government until placing my career on hold to have a family and home educate my three children.
I am a graduate of the Minnesota Excellence in Public Service Series, a communications, leadership, and management program for female leaders; a fellow of the National Conference of State Legislatures Early Learning program; and a Council of State Governments Early Childhood Development program participant.
Currently, I am in my second-term in the Minnesota House of Representatives serving as the minority lead member on the Early Childhood and Youth Development Policy committee and a member of the Education Finance and Tax committees. I am also the minority party House legislative liaison to the Minnesota Youth Council and to the Minnesota Early Learning Council.
Chuck, my husband of 32 years, and I, are active members of Bethesda Church, located in Savage.
