Seifert Names Burnsville Representative Pam Myhra Lieutenant Governor Candidate
SAINT PAUL – Republican gubernatorial candidate Marty Seifert today announced State Representative Pam Myhra (R-Burnsville) will join his ticket as candidate for lieutenant governor in the 2014 race. Myhra is known for her dedication in the Minnesota House and is a leader on issues such as education, early childhood development, and taxes. Myhra is married to her husband, Chuck, and they have three adult children.
In searching for a running mate, Seifert said he wanted a strong conservative with a winning record.
“Pam is a winner, defeating an entrenched multi-term incumbent Democrat in a swing district. She works hard on behalf of her constituents in the district she now represents, and will be a major part of carrying our team across the finish line in 2014,” said Seifert. “In the years I have known Pam Myhra, I have consistently been impressed by her commitment to family, faith, and community; Pam is an intelligent, caring and thoughtful conservative who is fully committed to bringing sensible leadership to Minnesota and replacing the out-of-touch Dayton Administration.”
Myhra said her decision to join the Seifert ticket was easy and she has the full support of her family and friends.
“I truly believe Marty Seifert is the right person for the challenges our state faces and is absolutely the best candidate to defeat Mark Dayton next fall,” Myhra said. “Marty is a person of integrity who has the right Minnesota values and experience to unite our Party, defeat Dayton, and implement the effective state government Minnesota desperately needs.”
Representative Myhra will not seek the endorsement of her local Republican Party unit for re-election to the Minnesota House. She will continue to serve the people of District 56A in the Minnesota House and will join Seifert in campaigning statewide during the busy Republican endorsement process as her legislative schedule permits.
